Langelands Efterskole is built around the Danish idea of Dannelse – the lifelong process of becoming human through curiosity, experience, education, diversity, inclusiveness and encounters with others.
In a world increasingly shaped by algorithms, categories and predetermined identities, we created a strategic and visual identity around a different idea: perhaps we don’t find ourselves by looking inward, but through what – and who – we meet.

The identity embraces difference rather than uniformity. From colourful and expressive to monochrome black, red and white, it gives students space to find themselves within it. At its heart is a custom typeface built around ligatures – individual letters connecting to create something new without losing themselves. From kærLEhed (love) and fælLEsskab (community) to I’MPERFECT, imperfection becomes something to embrace rather than correct.
And the idea lives beyond the identity. The students have chosen a no-phone, no-social-media culture, making physical presence, trust, sharing and friendship central to life at the school. Communication follows the same spirit: analogue, tactile and social – through posters, stickers, publications and word of mouth rather than feeds and algorithms.

Each year, LE100 brings together the 100 students who get to live, learn and grow at Langelands Efterskole. 100 individuals. One year together. Each shaping the community – and being shaped by it.

An identity not just designed to represent Dannelse, but to create space for it to happen.
